ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking an Accounting Manager for Power Delivery – Shared Services Operations to join our team of creators and problem solvers. The Accounting Manager is responsible for the leadership, development, and execution for a rapidly growing shared service function. This role will drive strategic change across a large organization, develop and mentor over 5 people, establish accounting policies and internal controls, and ensures compliance with applicable regulations within the accounting function. This leader partners with internal stakeholders across Operations, IT, and Corporate to identify and provide solutions for process challenges. This role reports directly to the Shared Service Controller and operates in a matrixed environment with Corporate.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, manage, transform, and oversee the accounting function and team, including, but not limited to, Financial Reporting, G / L Accounting, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, and SOX
- Develop, document and maintain business processes and accounting policies and procedures to strengthen and maintain an effective internal control environment and integrity of the books and records
- Reduce the time commitment and oversee the financial accounting close process, including fixed assets, intercompany, AP, Accruals, and Cash, in an accurate manner
- Design and implement standard costing models to decrease non-valuable administrative functions
- Review reconciliation and financial accounts, ensuring timely completion and close out of reconciling items
- Manage audit (internal and external) inquiries and relationships, and ensure timely and adequate responses are provided
- Maintain compliance with government and organizational reporting requirements
- Partner closely with FP&A to support data needs and analysis, including executive level reporting for performance monitoring
- Provide consistent and reliable data for ongoing forecasting and planning, including P&L and cash flow
- Perform ad hoc analysis to understand variances in financial and operational drivers
- Identify financial and operational opportunities and work across functions to drive improvement
- Lead business transformation efforts in conjunction with strategic priorities – ERP implementation, acquisition integration, restructuring
- Build / maintain relationships with Segment / Corporate teams, internal and external auditors, key financial vendors, and customers
- Actively manage, mentor and coach team members; inspire and encourage continued growth and development
QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Finance, Accounting or Business Management; MBA, MS and / or CPA preferredStrong technical knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and accounting / ERP systems6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years serving in a leadership roleAbility to accurately and efficiently close books, report timely results and explain variancesStrong collaboration skills with the ability to communicate vision and gain alignment with senior leadersAbility to influence, adapt and lead through change and ambiguity in a dynamic growth environmentProblem solver adept at envisioning, implementing and building consensus around optimal solutionsHighly organized and detail oriented; able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously; excellent project management and time management skills, with a focus on delivering results on time, on budget, and on goalExperience with ERP integrations and / or enhancements; JDE or Oracle preferredAbility to inspire / lead change; track record of building strong teamsKEY COMPETENCIES
