Overview
Sea-Bird Scientific is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Electrical Engineer to join our team supporting the manufacturing and ongoing improvement of world-class oceanographic instruments. Our high-accuracy sensors are used globally to measure key ocean parameters, contributing to climate research, environmental monitoring, and marine science. This role is located in Bellevue, WA and reports directly to the Production Engineering Manager onsite.

Responsibilities
- Electronic hardware debugging and troubleshooting to the component level.
- Create and maintain manufacturing and testing documentation.
- Support electronics manufacturing processes such as fine pitch surface mount soldering.
- Collaborate with production to support daily tasks and resolve issues efficiently.
- Lead and / or participate in continuous improvement activities to increase productivity and reduce downtime and scrap.
- Apply problem-solving principles to resolve quality and on-time delivery issues.
- Design software applications and fixtures to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Work with R&D to apply design for manufacturability early in product development.
- Test, plan, coordinate, and document the implementation of process and design changes.
- Address internal and external customer complaints with root-cause investigations and countermeasures.
- Interact with outside vendors for board / part questions and vendor qualification for new parts.
- Collaborate with materials and supply chain teams to implement new parts and designs and support material productivity opportunities.
Qualifications
Essential : BA / BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.1-2 years of related experience in manufacturing or an engineering environment.Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.Preferred skills
Proficiency with computer software; experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MS Office (spreadsheets, word processing, databases).Database interaction experience including SQL (preferred).Testing software knowledge including LabVIEW and Python.Lean manufacturing knowledge (preferred).Compensation and Benefits
US compensation range : $85,000 - $110,000 USD per year. Eligible for Bonus Pay.Comprehensive benefits including paid time off, medical / dental / vision insurance, and 401(k).Employment Details
