About the Role
We’re seeking a hands-on, strategic, and execution-driven Operations Manager to lead all facets of construction, field operations, and business performance for a well-established industrial contractor specializing in petroleum and fueling system infrastructure . This is a pivotal leadership role reporting directly to ownership.
The Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, manage cross-functional teams, streamline systems, and drive measurable growth. The company has a strong customer base and steady workload year-round, with projects ranging from fueling system installations and underground tank construction to electrical, piping, and site development work across the Mid-Atlantic.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Operations Across the Business : Oversee all construction and petroleum operations, field activities, and administrative functions to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Drive Growth & Strategic Execution : Develop and implement systems, processes, and performance metrics that increase profitability, efficiency, and market share.
- Team Leadership & Development : Build, coach, and empower teams — from field crews to project managers, ensuring clear accountability, strong communication, and a culture of excellence.
- Integrate Cultures & Build Alignment : Lead the integration of two operating divisions, fostering collaboration and consistency across teams while preserving core values.
- Enhance Client & Partner Relationships : Strengthen partnerships with key customers and subcontractors, ensuring the company remains the go-to choice for major fueling and infrastructure projects.
- Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement : Streamline project delivery workflows, reduce overhead costs, improve general conditions, and ensure milestone benchmarks are consistently met or exceeded.
- Business Development Support : Partner with leadership to identify niche markets, diversify service offerings, and support targeted growth initiatives, including alternative energy and equipment distribution.
Who You Are
Industry Expert : 5–10+ years in operations leadership within petroleum, fueling, industrial construction, or related infrastructure sectors .Hands-On Leader : Proven track record managing crews, field operations, and project execution, not just delegating from behind a desk.Builder of Teams & Culture : Experienced in coaching and developing talent, reorganizing teams for success, and fostering a results-oriented, collaborative culture.Strategic Operator : Comfortable defining operational plans, managing budgets, setting KPIs, and executing against growth objectives.Customer-Focused : Skilled at strengthening client relationships and delivering best-in-class service and value.Growth-Minded : Ambitious and driven ready to grow with a company positioned to expand revenue by $10M+ in the next five years.Compensation & Benefits
