Overview
Job Title : Project Manager - Civil Construction. This position is full time with 100% travel within the central United States. Reports to : Director of Project Management.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example and reflect company culture and core values.
- Oversee a team of superintendents to ensure projects are completed to specification, on time, and on budget.
- Determine required resources (manpower, equipment, materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
- Manage each subcontractor to ensure work meets quality standards and adheres to specifications.
- Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.
- Schedule and coordinate projects for efficiency and quality.
- Communicate regularly with clients concerning budget, schedule, and quantity tracking.
- Ensure adherence to the budget and adjust as needed when issues arise.
- Support the superintendent in coordinating project needs and directing day-to-day field activities.
- Ensure safety standards and guidelines are followed and that all safety codes are met on the jobsite.
- Coordinate and communicate contract revisions and additions, with adherence by all parties.
- Collaborate with clients, supervisory staff, subcontractors, and engineers to discuss and resolve challenges.
- Lead actions necessary due to delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with all involved parties, including vendors and subcontractors.
- Perform accurate project and budget tracking; issue and update One Calls.
- Ensure Submittals and RFIs for the project are submitted and tracked for project compliance.
- Work with Project Engineer on project specifications, Submittals, RFIs, Change Orders, and Quantity Tracking.
- Oversee multiple crews / projects as necessary and participate in scheduling crews and evaluating manpower needs.
- Provide updates on work in progress and support strategic forecasting for active projects in collaboration with the Director of Project Management.
- Assist in preparing and verifying accurate monthly billing.
- Knowledge of Topcon / Trimble GPS is a plus.
Required Skills / Abilities
3-5 years of civil experience.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.Procore experience.Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations.Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure and when faced with delays.Ability to multitask while analyzing and solving problems.Thorough understanding of engineering, architectural, and construction drawings.Strong organizational and time management skills.Professional demeanor in any situation and ability to be a team player with leadership capabilities.Must be comfortable delegating tasks.Proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory for understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and team communications.Physical Requirements
Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of the jobsite in all weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.Travel is required.Exposure to construction site hazards.Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite.What We Offer
