Responsibilities Work in the Operating Room of an acute care Level I trauma center 23 operating rooms with a broad range of service lines except cardiovascular Day shifts, 5x8 hours, 6 : 45 AM to 3 : 15 PM Weekend requirement is one shift per month On-call required approximately once per week Floating within scope may occur but is rare; floating within hospital or to affiliates is required for all travelers Cerner EMR is used; experience preferred Hospital-provided scrubs are required Daily responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing for a variety of OR cases except cardiovascular Must demonstrate skill and experience in handling complex trauma and emergency cases Orientation includes parking permit issuance and online modules to be completed on the first day Must complete two out of three major holidays if assignment overlaps the holiday period RTO greater than five non-holiday days requires managerial approval Latex-free environment and strict adherence to infection control and safety standards are expected Requirements Active IL RN license in hand or in application process Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room experience required General and trauma OR experience required, including Level I trauma center experience BLS certification required; CNOR and CST preferred Experience with laparoscopic bariatric, general surgery, neurology, orthopedic, plastic, transplant, trauma, urology, and emergency management cases required Proficiency with equipment such as electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources / cords, and Hana tables Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred Professional knowledge in blood product administration, infection control, radiation safety, specimen handling, universal protocol, and urinary catheterization required Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered First time travelers are not accepted Must have been separated from any permanent or PRN employment at the facility for at least 12 months to be eligible Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-616161.
