Job Summary :
The Special Hazards Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of accounts that involve specialized fire protection, fire detection, or risk management systems. This role requires knowledge of special hazard systems (e.g., clean agent systems, water mist, CO₂ suppression, etc.), strong client relationship management skills, and the ability to coordinate with engineering, and field service teams.
Key Responsibilities :
Account Management
Maintain a thorough understanding of the Company's Customer Lifecycle Management sales and marketing strategy.Develop and maintain strong long-term business relationships with assigned suppression contractor accounts and other construction stakeholders such as General Contractors, Architects, Engineers, Consultants and Authorities having Jurisdiction.Develop and sell special hazards suppression solutions directly to end-user customers as needed.Identify key decision makers within assigned and prospective accounts.Conduct regular client reviews to assess satisfaction with Tech's products and services and evaluate performance with account.Pursue and sell extended system maintenance, inspection & testing, and monitoring contracts with end-user customers.Sales and Business Development
Identify new business opportunities, pursue new special hazards opportunities, and grow market share for special hazards fire suppression systems.Prepare proposals, estimates, and technical scopes of work in coordination with pre-sales engineering team.Negotiate contract terms and close sales opportunities.Meet or exceed sales goals and key performance indicators.Use CRM systems to manage accounts, key account contacts, opportunities, key activities, client communications, and sales forecasting ensuring all data is kept accurate and current.Cooperate with suppliers to secure mutual business through joint sales calls.Attend and / or host sales, product, and other company meetings as needed.Facilitate and assist with coordinating seminars, educational events, and presentations for current and prospective customers.Technical Expertise
Understand and communicate the technical requirements of special hazards systems.Be able to identify opportunities for special hazards applications.Collaborate with designers, engineers, and project managers to design and propose systems to meet code requirements, client needs, and budget constraints.Stay current with NFPA codes and standards and industry best practices.Stay current with product developments, industry trends, and competitive landscape.Project Coordination
Ensure proposed systems comply with all applicable regulations and customer requirements.Support project execution by coordinating with internal teams and third-party vendors as needed.Assist operations team in resolving any client or technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.Maintain accurate records of proposals, contracts, change orders, and service agreements.Qualifications :
3+ years of experience in fire protection, fire risk management, or a related industry.Working knowledge of special hazard systems (e.g., clean agent, foam, water mist, dry chemical, CO₂).Working knowledge of how to read and interpret applicable Building and Fire codes.Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to travel as needed (25-50%).Preferred Qualifications :
NICET certification (Level II or higher in Special Hazards Systems or Fire Suppression) or willingness to achieve.Experience with the design and estimating of special hazards suppression systems.Experience working with or selling within the new construction channel.Experience reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.Key Competencies :
