Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach
The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will support the Director of Strength and Conditioning in all aspects of performance coaching, including but not limited to; planning, design, implementation, and maintenance, while fostering a positive and safe environment. This role is vital in helping our student athletes achieve their full potential both on and off the field.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director in planning, organizing, and conducting training sessions for specified teams tailored to their needs.
- Develop and facilitate training for assigned teams as directed by the supervisor
- Provide instruction and guidance on techniques
- Help ensure the safety and well-being of all teams
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment
- Manage assigned personnel (interns, Graduate Assistants, etc)
- Participate in athletic events, meetings, fundraisers, and community engagement activities.
- Set-up and breakdown equipment before and after training sessions
- Ability to hear well enough to communicate effectively with co-workers, and athletes.
- Ability to be on your feet most of the day while constantly moving through the facility to help each athlete
- Frequently convey detailed or important coaching instructions and ideas accurately, clearly, and quickly.
- Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds of force regularly.
- The capability to demonstrate and instruct various techniques inside and outside the facility
- Maintain the physical fitness and stamina required to participate in and oversee rigorous training sessions
- Capacity to lift, move, and support equipment and athletes as needed
- Strong visual and auditory abilities to quickly and accurately assess performances and provide feedback.
- Ability to work most weekends for athletic events, practices or games
- Willingness and ability to travel and endure long hours during games, practices, and events.
- Work according to the weight room schedule that is set at the beginning of each semester.
- Travel for athletic events or games is required as needed.
Requirements
