The Milwaukee office of SmithGroup is looking for a Mission Critical Electrical Engineer to join our team.

Working with us, you will :

  • Perform analysis, design, and documentation of building electrical systems for data centers, including power distribution, generators, UPS, grounding, and lighting systems design. Experience with medium voltage (35-15KV) power systems is a plus.
  • Independently provide the full range of electrical engineering services on small to medium-sized projects.
  • Revise, review, and coordinate construction documents.
  • Mentor and train junior staff.
  • Develop solutions to challenging electrical power distribution issues with integrated architecture and engineering project design teams.
  • Contribute to SmithGroup's sustainable design initiatives by using software to perform electrical loads, short circuit analysis, generator loads, and lighting calculations.

An ideal candidate has :

  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing electrical power distribution and lighting systems for data centers, including experience in government, research labs, and higher education projects is a plus.
  • LEED AP and Engineering-in-Training certification preferred; PE license in progress.
  • Proficiency in Revit and / or AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office required. Experience with SKM systems is desired.
