• Lead and coordinate the nursing staff during your shift, ensuring that patient care assignments are appropriate and that all staff are working effectively together.
• Provide direct patient care as needed, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to the nursing staff, providing guidance and support in managing complex patient cases and ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Participate in the orientation and ongoing education of nursing staff, helping to foster a learning environment that promotes professional growth and development.
• Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patient care is coordinated and that any issues are addressed promptly.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes, reducing hospital-acquired conditions, and improving overall efficiency in the unit.
• Ensure that patient care documentation is accurate, complete, and in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Advocate for the needs and preferences of patients, ensuring that they receive compassionate, patient-centered care.
• Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are strictly followed, including infection control measures, medication administration, and patient identification.
