Must-Have : Candidates must be comfortable being assigned to an emergency team during hurricane season.

Description :

You are being submitted to a position in an area commonly impacted by hurricanes.

The hurricane season will run from June 1 to November 30, but storms can occur outside this window.

Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an emergency team.

You may be expected to stay at the facility until the storm passes or be part of the relief team.

Specific pay details regarding storms will be provided as impacts can vary.

By signing your travel contract, you accept these conditions and agree to report as directed by your immediate unit manager in case of a storm.

You should not apply during the hurricane season if you are not comfortable with these expectations.

The average daily census is 12 to 16 patients, with a staffing ratio of 1-1.

Patient diagnoses include multi-trauma, CVA / stroke, neurological conditions, and post-operative orthopedic surgery.

This is acute care with no modality skills or prosthetic requirements.

Basic orthotic and splinting skills are a plus but not required.

The unit will accept first-time travelers with a minimum of one year of experience.

This position is a backfill for a cancellation and requires an ASAP start.

References from two managers or supervisors will be required to obtain clearance to start the contract.
