Overview
Powell is an engineered to order manufacturer of switchgear and electrical equipment for the power generation industry.
We are currently seeking a skilled Electrical Assembler to join our team at our facility located in Houston, TX, 77075.
The Electrical Assembler will perform various duties on power control rooms including bending, running, installing, and terminating electrical conduit.
1st shift : Mon-Thurs 5 : 00am-3 : 30pm plus OT
2nd shift : Mon-Thurs 3 : 00pm-1 : 30am plus OT
Essential Responsibilities
The Senior Electrical Assembler will perform various duties on power control rooms including bending, running, installing, and terminating electrical conduit.
Essential Responsibilities
Install electrical devices (disconnects, lights, panel boards, transformers, battery chargers, lighting contactors, VFDs, etc.)
Ben, run, and install conduit (EMT and Rigid)Install wire wayInstall cable trayPull wire and large cableCut, strip, crimp, and terminate wiresInstall wiring by following standard work / process instructions (NEC Manual)Learn and adhere to all safety policies and practices to avoid safety incidentsLearn and adhere to all manufacturing policies and practices to ensure consistent productionEnsure quality by following standard work / process instructions and identifying any potential risks to product qualityMinimum Qualifications
Minimum of high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)5 years of relevant manufacturing experienceMust have a base command of the English language, both written and verbalAbility to bend conduit on a GB Sidewinder style bender (EMT and Rigid)Skills, Abilities & Other Requirements
Experience installing cable trayExperience installing wire wayAbility to crimp and terminate wiresAbility to read drawings or blue printsWorking knowledge of electricity, circuits, and functions of common components (panel boards, transformers, disconnects, terminal blocks, relays, lighting contactors, etc.)Ability to read drawings (wiring diagrams, schematics, layout drawings)Ability to perform tasks with minimal direction or supervisionWorking knowledge of relevant NEC Code sectionsAbility to perform basic mathematical calculationsKnowledge of air, hand, and power toolsBasic mechanical knowledgeAbility to read a tape measureEmployee is expected to meet or exceed established Senior Electrical Assembler productivity run ratesWorking & Environmental Conditions
