We are hiring a new member of our Vivarium team who will help maintain our animal colony. You will provide care to our animals and keep the facilities well-maintained, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare. You will report to the Vivarium team lead.

In this role you will :

• Maintain the highest standards of animal welfare and biosecurity.
• Maintain our animal colony by performing routine husbandry; cage changing, feeding and watering, providing environmental enrichment.
• Conduct animal health observations and basic health treatments.
• Receive, inspect and put away incoming animals.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, such as daily animal health check logs, room temperature / humidity readings, etc.
• Contribute to facility upkeep; performing cleaning and decontamination of animal holding and procedure rooms with excellent quality and rigor.
• Perform vivarium-based initiatives independently and provide guidance to other team members as needed.
• Provide assistance with in vivo experiments by performing basic biomethodology (handling, restraint, body weight collection, behavioral assays, weaning, genotyping) to contribute to ongoing scientific research.
• Follow all safety requirements and procedures including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) if required.
