Job Description
The Core Research Associate I will be responsible for day-to-day operations and maintenance of laboratory equipment and facilities, while providing technical support within a dynamic scientific environment. This role requires expertise in tissue culture for mammalian cells, preferably with a focus on stem cells, as well as experience in molecular biology techniques. Strong bench or instrument skills, basic troubleshooting and protocol refinement abilities, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role. The successful candidate will work closely with a team of researchers, contributing to advancing scientific knowledge and discoveries.
Qualifications
- Bachelors
- 1 year in research environment OR Masters in relevant field
Preferred Skillset
Strong proficiency in tissue culture techniques for mammalian cells, particularly stem cells, including cell line establishment, expansion, and differentiation.Proficient in a wide range of molecular biology techniques, such as DNA / RNA isolation, PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, and DNA sequencing.Excellent bench or instrument skills, with the ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment effectively.Basic troubleshooting and protocol refinement skills to address technical issues and improve experimental procedures.Ability to provide training and support to new team members and students in laboratory techniques and safety protocols.Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration and effective teamwork.Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation using relevant software tools and statistical methods.Commitment to maintaining a safe and ethical work environment.Responsibilities

Compensation Statement
Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58661 - $76727 Annually.
