Job Description & Requirements Specialty : OR - Operating Room Discipline : RN Start Date : 10 / 28 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 10 hours, days Employment Type : Travel OR Nurse Manager Location : Lawrence, Massachusetts Contract Length : 13 weeks Start Date : Orientation on 10 / 28 or 11 / 10 Shift : 4x10s, 10 : 00 a.m. - 8 : 00 p.m. Hours : 40 per week EMR : Meditech Requirements Licensure : Active RN license (MA or compact) Certifications : CNOR (Required) Experience : Minimum 2 years perioperative & surgical management experience Must be competent on call for all surgical specialties listed below Specialty Competencies Ortho Trauma : Required Total Joints : Hips, Knees, Shoulders, Reverse Shoulders Vascular : Fem-pop, AAA, AV fistulas, thrombectomies GYN : Hysteroscopy, ABD / Vaginal / Lap-assisted Hysterectomy, Cystectomy General : Laparoscopic (camera competency preferred) Colorectal : Hemicolectomy, Hepatic resections ENT : Peds T&A, tubes (no ophthalmology required) Urology : Prostatectomy (lap vs open), TURP, stents, cystoscopy Bariatrics : Required Spine : Neuro and ortho cases, ant / post spines (specify table experience); burr holes and subdural hematoma OK, no craniotomies Trauma : Yes (gunshot, stabbing, multi-bone trauma); no burns Thoracic : Starting service—OK if limited experience Cardiovascular : None Manager Responsibilities Oversee daily surgical flow and efficiency Evaluate staffing and scheduling; adjust clinical assignments as needed Respond to real-time schedule changes (add-on / late cases, resource allocation) Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, and department chiefs Maintain safe patient care and high clinical performance standards Guaranteed Hours : 40 / week Contract Weeks : 13 About Genie Healthcare Genie Healthcare is one of the fastest growing Nurse Travel Agencies in the USA.
