NICU RN Job Details Location : Odessa, Texas 79761 (West Texas nursing jobs) Healthcare Setting : Level III NICU Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Start Date : October 27, 2025 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19 : 00 - 07 : 00) Hours per Week : 36 Openings Available : 3 NICU RN positions Orientation : 16 hours Estimated Weekly Pay : $1700 - $1820 per week NICU Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Texas or compact state Minimum 2 years of recent Level III NICU nursing experience Prior travel nursing experience required Current BLS, NRP, PALS, and STABLE certifications Experience with Cerner electronic charting preferred Flu vaccination required (medical / religious exemptions considered) Previous charge nurse experience preferred Ability to provide patient care for neonates, including those 29-34 weeks gestation Local candidates within 50 miles not eligible NICU RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate neonatal care in a Level III NICU environment Administer blood products, anti-seizure medications, antibiotics, antivirals, and insulin Perform APGAR scoring, manage arterial lines, and assist with lumbar punctures Attend high-risk deliveries and provide immediate neonatal resuscitation and care Support breastfeeding mothers and ensure proper handling of breast milk Manage advanced respiratory support : bubble CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, high-frequency ventilation Care for central and implanted lines, chest tubes, and perform phlebotomy Monitor and manage neonatal conditions such as hyperbilirubinemia, NEC, sepsis, and respiratory distress syndrome Educate and support families throughout the NICU stay Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapists, social workers, and unit secretaries Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR Apply now to join our Odessa, Texas healthcare team as a NICU Registered Nurse and make a difference in neonatal care.
