- Hours : Varied; M-F either 7-3 : 30, 8-4 : 30, 10-6 : 30 or 11 : 30-8. Two weekend days per month from 7 : 30am-4 : 00pm. Holiday and travel as needed.

Performs a variety of complex diagnostic MRI procedures, with the primary responsibility of completing diagnostic studies from inception to completion under the direction of the radiologist. This includes, but is not limited to : performing routine MRIs and MRAs, taking accurate verbal patient histories and starting IVs, to administer IV contrast. Maintain a positive imaging environment for our patients and act as a patient liaison to the radiologist.
Performs quality assurance checks on equipment and procedure areasEnsures proper MRI safety standards are metEnsures that all ferromagnetic materials are located outside of scan roomAble to explain correct emergency shutdown proceduresAble to properly demonstrate fire and safety evacuationsPatient transfer / transport equipment is checked to ensure compliance with safe operational standardsOperates required equipment necessary to produce scans using established guidelines and MRI protocolsCompletes necessary protocolling tasksPerforms ordered examinations according to written MRI protocolsProperly identifies three unique identifiersIntroduction to patient is performed using name and role titleProcedure is explained in laymen's terms using educational / informational aids (books, pamphlets, interpreter, etc.) when necessaryTime is allowed for patient feedback and questions, ensuring all questions are addressed prior to exam startCompletion of MRI screening forms is verified and information provided is validatedStarts IV access according to standard procedure and injects media under the direction of a physicianAppropriate IV site is selected according to exam protocolProper catheter or needle is selected and venipuncture is introduced following established standard precaution guidelinesCorrect IV contrast is selected and correct amount for administration is prepared according to established protocolsAppropriate injection parameters are selected and injection is monitored according to established guidelinesInjection amount, IV location and flow rate is recorded on correct documents and appropriate QA documentation (QR reports) is generated when infiltration or reaction occursPrepares and positions patient for procedure by using established MRI protocols to achieve the highest quality imageQualifications
Graduate of an accredited education program in MRI requiredARRT Registered Technologist, RT(MR) or ARMRIT Certified Technologist requiredBLS – Basic Life Support, AED Adult & Pediatric CPR requiredMinimum of one year MRI imaging experienceJob requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending / stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive)Repetitive motion : computer keyboardAttention to detail and ability to write legiblyAbility to lift / push / pull 50 - 100lbsManipulate MRI coils / table and accessory equipmentReach equipment at heights greater than 6 feetAssist in moving patient from stretcher, wheelchair, or bed to and from MRI tableAdequate eyesight to observe the patient's condition, read MRI computer screen / imaging equipment and evaluate MRI images for qualitySufficient hearing to respond to patient's verbal inquiriesCommunicate with other personnel involved in the care of the patientInitiate timely response to audible alarms and signalsAbility to perform multiple tasks simultaneouslyAbility to maintain self-composure and a positive attitude under stressThe compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $32.65-$49.00, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
