S&ME is looking for a motivated and passionate environmental professional seeking to grow their career as an Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental team in Columbia, South Carolina . Are you ready to contribute your education and knowledge to meaningful projects? Join us at S&ME!

As an Environmental Scientist , you will work under the direction of a project manager to perform both office and field work related to environmental assessments, compliance, and permitting projects. Additionally, you will support our industrial hygiene team in various capacities.

Your Day-to-Day :

• Conduct Environmental Assessments : Perform fieldwork and reporting for environmental assessments, including Phase I and Phase II ESAs and Brownfields assessments.
• Oversee Installations and Sampling : Oversee soil borings, monitoring wells, and vapor point installations; collect and analyze groundwater, vapor, and soil / sediment samples.
• Industrial Hygiene Assessments : Perform fieldwork, assessments, and reporting for industrial hygiene contaminants and hazardous materials, including asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, PCBs, mercury, and indoor air quality.
• Compliance Monitoring : Monitor compliance through stormwater sampling and underground storage tank (UST) assessments and investigations.
• Data Recording and Reporting : Record and interpret data, compare results to regulations, and prepare standard environmental reports.
