$170,000.00 / yr - $185,000.00 / yr

Job title : Director of Software Engineering

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will design, build and scale our client’s modern data platform infrastructure. The primary focus is on enhancing data accessibility through robust Data Products and driving AI innovation as well as their next-generation LLM based applications. This role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of high impact data initiatives.

Required skills

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years experience in a software engineering / lead / architecture role
  • Prior management experience with ability to mentor and grow talent
  • Proven experience leading high-caliber engineering teams, ideally working on data-intensive or AI-driven products in a regulated industry
  • Experience in building modern data and software platform infrastructure, with a primary focus on Data Products accessibility
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Prior technical progressive experience with software development, data engineering and data design. One or more of the following is desired - Python, Java, NOSQL, Kafka, Elasticsearch, AWS
  • Experience with Data modeling / structures
  • Past experience with agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain or similar), and model tuning techniques for large language models
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), CI / CD pipelines, and modern data tools (SQL / NoSQL, streaming, data lakes)
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines and resources
