Overview

The Senior Cloud Engineer will lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and standardized cloud frameworks across the enterprise.

This role is critical in establishing foundational architecture, governance, and automation to support efficient and compliant cloud operations.

The engineer will collaborate with engineering, security, compliance, and business teams to align cloud frameworks with strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain enterprise-grade cloud frameworks, including landing zones, reference architectures, and governance models.
  • Define and implement cloud governance policies for security, compliance, identity, cost management, and operational excellence.
  • Build reusable templates and automation pipelines using tools such as CDK / CloudFormation, Bicep, Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi.
  • Collaborate with security, DevOps, and application teams to ensure frameworks meet technical and business requirements.
  • Translate strategic cloud goals into actionable frameworks and technical standards.
  • Establish observability standards to support performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Create clear documentation and provide training to teams adopting the cloud framework.
  • Continuously improve frameworks by staying current with cloud trends and evolving business needs.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing cloud frameworks and governance models.
  • Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, Ansible, Pulumi, or CDK.
  • Deep understanding of cloud governance, including security, compliance, and cost optimization.
  • Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams including security, DevOps, and application development.
  • Ability to translate strategic objectives into technical standards and frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud observability, performance tuning, and cost management.
  • Excellent documentation and training skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
