We are seeking a passionate and experienced Permanent Merchandise Buyer in the Retail / Apparel industry. This role is integral to our company's success, as you will be responsible for negotiating and buying merchandise, managing Open to Buy, collaborating with planners on merchandise flow, analyzing supplier performance, and much more. You will be at the forefront of our purchasing strategies, ensuring we offer the most competitive and appealing products to our customers. If you have a keen eye for trends, excellent negotiation skills, and a strategic mind for planning and analysis, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities :
1. Negotiate and buy merchandise, ensuring we offer the most competitive and appealing products to our customers.
2. Manage Open to Buy, ensuring we maintain optimal stock levels to meet customer demand without overstocking.
3. Collaborate with planners on merchandise flow, ensuring products are delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
4. Analyze supplier performance, identifying areas for improvement and negotiating better terms where necessary.
5. Collaborate with eCom merchandiser on assortment, placement, promotions, and marketing, ensuring our online offerings are appealing and competitive.
6. Search for new suppliers, categories, and items, keeping our product offerings fresh and relevant.
7. Negotiate vendor allowances and terms, ensuring we get the best possible deals and maintain strong relationships with our suppliers.
Qualifications :
1. Must have at least 5 years of experience as a Merchandiser or Associate Buyer within the retail / apparel industry.
2. Proven experience in merchandise planning is essential.
3. Strong negotiation skills.
4. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze supplier performance and identify areas for improvement.
5. Experience collaborating with eCom merchandisers on assortment, placement, promotions, and marketing.
6. Proven ability to manage Open to Buy and collaborate with planners on merchandise flow.
7. Experience searching for and sourcing new suppliers, categories, and items.
8. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
9. Strong strategic planning skills, with the ability to anticipate market trends and customer needs.
10. Proven ability to negotiate vendor allowances and terms.
