  • Location : Nashville, TN 37203 (Tennessee nursing jobs)\n
  • Unit : 12 Tower – Medical Surgical (Med / Surg)\n
  • Assignment Length : 13 weeks (10 / 27 / 2025 – 1 / 26 / 2026)\n
  • Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM (12-hour night shifts)\n
  • Hours per Week : 36\n
  • Number of Beds : 36\n
  • Patient Ratios : 1 : 4 / 1 : 5\n
  • On-Site Registered Nurse Position \n
  • Estimated Weekly Salary : $1530–$1640\n

    • \n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee or compact state\n
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and NIHSS certifications required\n
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical (Med / Surg) nursing experience preferred\n
  • Proficient in patient assessments and general care for wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, stroke, and seizure patients\n
  • Experience with post-operative care including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs\n
  • Familiarity with Meditech electronic health record system is a plus\n
  • Ability to work 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week block\n
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and responsiveness skills\n

    • \n\nMed / Surg RN Responsibilities\n \n

  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to a diverse Med / Surg patient population\n
  • Conduct bedside shift reports and perform safety checks every 1-2 hours\n
  • Operate clinical equipment including PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lifts, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps\n
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation using Meditech\n
  • Participate in healthcare-associated infection (HAI) and fall prevention initiatives\n
  • Adhere to 100% medication scanning protocols, including for controlled substances\n
  • Float to other hospital units as needed to support core nursing staff\n
  • Comply with attendance and dress code policies (approved scrubs : navy, blue, white, black, gray, or ceil blue)\n
  • Foster a positive team environment focused on patient outcomes and staff recognition\n
