Director Of Assisted Housing Programs
HACLA's Assisted Housing Programs Department is seeking a passionate and committed candidate to join the team as Director of Assisted Housing Programs. The position is responsible for oversight of over 60,000 federal housing subsidy vouchers and rent subsidy programs which require a strategic and innovative leader to help accomplish the organization's mission to better provide Angelenos with affordable housing. The incumbent will serve as the administrative and operational lead who is able to tackle the affordable housing challenges the City of Los Angeles is facing. The Director of Assisted Housing Programs serves as the administrative head of the Assisted Housing Programs Department, providing strategic leadership and oversight of all departmental functions, programs, and personnel. The incumbent is responsible for the overall planning, organization, and management of federally funded rental subsidy programs in the City of Los Angeles. The Director establishes departmental goals and policies, ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and oversees the effective delivery of housing services to program participants, property owners, and community stakeholders. The Director ensures the fiscal integrity of all programs, manages multimillion-dollar budgets, and directs contract administration and program maintenance activities. This role requires a high level of administrative skill, policy development expertise, and the ability to coordinate with governmental agencies, elected officials, and the public to achieve the department's mission of providing safe, decent, and affordable housing.
Examples of essential functions include :
Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration, or a closely related field, and 10 years progressively responsible experience in public housing administration and federally funded housing programs, five of which must have been at a managerial level. Preferred qualifications include experience with managing large programs and teams. Special requirements include possession of a valid California Class "C" Driver's License.
