Location : La Plata, Maryland (20646) – Southern Maryland healthcare jobs

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nurse contract

Start Date : December 1, 2025

End Date : March 2, 2026

Shift : 12-hour nights (19 : 00 – 07 : 30)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1870 - $2000 per week

Setting : Community Hospital Emergency Department

Patient Population : All ages (neonates to geriatrics)

Average Daily Census : 130

Number of Beds : 47

Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend and holidays as scheduled

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or Compact State

Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room RN experience (2 years preferred)

Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI (AHA only for BLS / ACLS / PALS)

Experience with Epic charting system preferred

Community hospital nursing experience required

Comfortable caring for all age groups in a high-volume, non-trauma ER

Ability to float within the ER specialty as needed

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Two satisfactory professional references (one supervisor / manager and one charge RN)

Permanent residence must be 50+ miles from facility

ER Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to diverse patient populations

Perform triage, assessment, and interventions for various medical emergencies

Administer medications, manage IVs, and deliver advanced life support

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physicians, respiratory therapists, and social workers

Document patient care and coordinate using Epic EMR system

Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions

Float to other units within the ER specialty as required

Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards
