Driver (TEMP)
The Client Ambassador / Transportation Specialist (CA / TS) is responsible for monitoring the shelter facility, clients, and guests to provide a safe, orderly, respectful, and peaceful environment. The CA / TS also coordinates client transportation requests, assigns Drivers, and maintains vehicle forms and reports.
Essential Functions :
- Ensure all clients understand and comply with facility rules.
- Monitor and assist with the cleanliness of the facility.
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate individuals.
- Greet and direct visitors to appropriate individuals.
- Provide basic information about the facility and programs.
- Prepare written reports for all incidents.
- Maintain a safe environment inside and outside of the facility.
- Perform thorough rounds throughout each assigned shift.
- Monitor client medication.
- Observe activity around the facility on the reception office video monitors.
- Coordinate client transportation, including regular VA shuttles.
- Ensure that Drivers maintain the cleanliness and service needs of all vehicles.
- Maintain all Driver Logs for all vehicles and record monthly mileage.
- Make sure all registration, insurance, and Motor Carrier Permits are up to date.
Working Conditions :
Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax, and telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications :
High School degree or GED with 1 year of work experience.If in recovery, must have 2 years of sobriety.Experience in mental health and / or addictions fields preferred.Understand and support the mission of The Salvation Army.Basic literacy skills.CPR and First Aid certification required within 14 days of hire, and annually thereafter.TB-cleared prior to start date, and annually.Skills, Knowledge & Abilities :
Ability to exercise sound judgment in carrying out assignments independently.Good time management skills.Good oral and written communication skills.Strong sense of workplace ethics and confidentiality.Ability to answer telephone, greet visitors, and interact with clients and other staff members in a courteous, professional, respectful manner.Ability to effectively use office equipment.Must be able to work any shift and / or assigned schedule.
