Position Summary :
A Phlebotomist is responsible for drawing blood from patients for various laboratory tests and procedures. This role requires excellent patient interaction skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of safety and hygiene protocols.
Key Responsibilities :
Collect blood specimens from patients via venipuncture, capillary, or arterial methods.Accurately label, document, and process specimens for laboratory testing.Verify patient identification and ensure specimen integrity.Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked work area.Follow all health and safety guidelines, including infection control procedures.Transport specimens to the lab or arrange for courier services as needed.Calm and reassure patients who may be anxious or fearful of the procedure.Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with medical and legal standards.Assist with clerical duties such as scheduling, data entry, and filing as needed.Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent.Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.Certification (e.g., CPT, PBT) preferred or required depending on employer.Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work under pressure and maintain patient confidentiality.#J-18808-Ljbffr
