Description :

RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite.

Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly result in a cancellation.

This unit will accept first-time travelers.

Local candidates are accepted.

The target ratio is 1 : 4-5, with potential for a maximum of 1 : 6 in extreme situations.

The unit has a mix of PCU and medical-surgical patients.

The patient population primarily includes conditions such as COPD, pneumonia, respiratory distress, COVID-19, flu, and pulmonary embolisms.

Staffing on the unit includes an Admission / Discharge nurse, an Assistant Nurse Manager, and a Vascular Access Team present.

Unit staff include a team lead available for support, along with two respiratory therapists and an assistant nurse manager during shifts.

The unit has 48 total beds.

Most patients will have comorbidities necessitating telemetry monitoring.

Resources available on the unit include a Rapid Response Team and a Code Team.

Special equipment utilized may include chest tubes, drips, and various respiratory devices.

The unit uses specific systems for inventory and charting.

Candidates may be required to float to like units.

Weekend coverage is required for at least 4 shifts in a 6-week period.

Additional shifts may be mandated based on staffing needs.

Candidates must work 2 of 3 major holidays.

No RTO is allowed during the first week of the assignment.

A teamwork approach and adherence to behavioral expectations are necessary in all interactions with staff and patients.
