Position
AGAR is seeking a detail-oriented Environmental Graphic Production Designer with 5+ years of experience to join our fast-paced experiential marketing company. This role bridges the gap between creative and production, ensuring that all graphic elements for branded environments are accurately translated into final executions. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing and preparing shop drawings, selecting materials for fabrication and decor, and collaborating closely with fabricators, vendors, and internal teams to ensure design intent is flawlessly executed.
The Environmental Graphic Production Designer will support the Creative Director and project teams by translating creative concepts into technical drawings and buildable solutions for branded environments, experiential events, mobile activations, pop-up events, retail experiences and public art installations.
Responsibilities
- Lead Design Development Phase and production file management, including version control, documentation, and coordination across internal teams to meet timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Create design development drawing / technical drawings to convey design intent in preparation to share designs with fabricators.
- Review and mark up shop drawings to ensure they are meeting the creative intent and quality of standard.
- Create production-ready files to support print, fabrication, and installation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with design specifications.
- Serve as the main liaison between creative, operations, and fabrication teams—communicating specs, collecting field measurements, managing timelines, and overseeing on-site installs.
- Review vendor proofs and material samples to ensure quality, design fidelity, and proper execution during production and installation phases.
- Assist operations and production teams with obtaining vendor quotes and generating budgets for fabricated items.
- Research, recommend, and maintain a library of materials and production techniques that balance durability, cost, aesthetics, and innovation.
- Manage and oversee client standards to ensure brand guidelines are followed. Ensuring typography, color, imagery, form, technology, and content follow standards.
- Study and evaluate current industry and consumer trends and appropriately incorporate them into assigned design projects.
- Assist with selecting and managing design personnel including junior staff, freelancers and interns.
- Embody AGAR’s vision, mission, guiding principles, processes and core values.
- Participate in and contribute to internal meetings and company-owned events.
Qualifications
BS / BA in Industrial / Interior / Graphic Design or related field5+ years of post-graduate experience in graphic design or retail design, experience in temporary structural projects preferred.Proficient in design / project software such as Adobe Creative Cloud and CADtools. (Must know how to work at scale). Expertise in 3D concepts in Sketch-Up, AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Enscape or Vray skills are a plus.Deep understanding of print processes, large-format graphics, materials, substrates, and fabrication techniques.Experience working with shop drawings and fabrication specs.Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and project management skills.Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments while thinking critically and working efficiently.Must have excellent written / oral communication skills.Our Guiding Principles
