Forklift Operator
Snelling is seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating a forklift to move, load, and unload materials within our facility. Your role will play a crucial part in maintaining efficiency and safety in our warehouse or manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience operating forklifts and possess a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and excellent teamwork skills.
Responsibilities :
- Operate a forklift to move, stack, load, and unload materials efficiently and safely.
- Transport materials to designated locations within the facility, ensuring accurate placement and organization.
- Inspect and maintain the forklift, reporting any defects or issues to the supervisor.
- Follow established safety protocols and guidelines while operating the forklift and handling materials.
- Conduct routine checks on the forklift's functionality, such as fuel and fluid levels, tires, and brakes.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures related to the handling and storage of materials.
- Collaborate with supervisors to coordinate workflow and prioritize tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement, including inventory counts and data entry if required.
- Assist in general warehouse duties, such as inventory management, packaging, and labeling when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.
Required Qualifications :
Experience of 3 years or more with specific forklift models (sit down, cherry picker, and reach truck) or attachments relevant to the company's operations.Knowledge of warehouse management systems or inventory tracking software.Requirements :
Valid forklift operator certification or license.Proven experience as a forklift operator, preferably in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.Strong knowledge of forklift operation and safety guidelines.Ability to operate a forklift in a precise and controlled manner, even in tight spaces.Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception.Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials.Attention to detail and accuracy in material handling and record-keeping.Good communication and teamwork skills.Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, or overtime as required.Location
