About The Position

We are seeking a Surgery - Cardiothoracic Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in Illinois. This opportunity begins on Dec 1, 2025, lasts 52 days, and features a 4-day workweek with 10-hour day shifts (7am-5pm), including every third weekend with weekend call. The ideal candidate will have experience with chest tube removal, pre- and post-operative care, and follow-up visits in both inpatient and clinic settings.

  • Schedule : Four 10-hour shifts per week (7am-5pm); every third weekend includes working the entire weekend and taking call (e.g., Mon / Tues / Wed / Sat or Sun / Mon / Tues / Wed or Tues / Wed / Thurs / Fri)

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Remove chest tubes
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care to patients
  • Recover patients post-operatively
  • Round on post-operative patients
  • Conduct in-clinic follow-up visits
  • Additional Information

  • Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Illinois
  • Experience in cardiothoracic surgery settings preferred
