Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, engineering, and validating electrical equipment that ensures mission-critical power systems perform when it matters most. You will work closely with our Engineering department to deliver exceptional results that exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, engineer, and validate electrical equipment, including low / medium voltage switchgear, motor controllers, relay panels, and more
  • Provide engineering input and support for current production items, including implementation of design changes, availability of required drawings, and documentation submittals
  • Collaborate with customers regarding new proposals, providing design recommendations and technical support
  • Travel to potential customer sites as needed to support the business
  • Support Production (Assembly, Wiring and QA) teams as needed with questions and problems building and testing equipment

Qualifications

  • Based in South Carolina and surrounding states, with the ability to travel to our facility as needed
  • Proficiency in low and medium voltage switchgear design principles and associated hardware
  • Experience with PLC hardware using ladder logic, function block, and structured text-based programming
  • Familiarity with various communication protocols, including Modbus, Profibus, CANbus (serial and Ethernet-based)
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Ability to read and design to various requirement specs (MIL, ABS, ANSI, IEEE)
  • Experience with equipment qualification to MIL and IEC standards (including shock, vibration, and EMI qualification)
  • Strong project management skills, with experience using Microsoft Planner and Project tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Productivity Tools, AutoCAD, and Solidworks (experience a plus)
  • PE (Professional Engineer) designation a huge plus

    • Preferred Position Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Computer or Mechatronic Engineering
  • 8+ years in a direct experience or related product and system design
