Pay Rate : $30 – $40 / hr

Shift / Hours : Tuesday – Saturday : 9 : 00 AM – 5 : 30 PM

Job Summary :

The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs high-complexity clinical testing to support accurate diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patient health. This role is responsible for analyzing specimens, reviewing test results, and maintaining laboratory quality standards under CLIA, HIPAA, and OSHA guidelines. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple testing priorities in a fast-paced diagnostic environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Perform specimen handling, processing, and analysis according to laboratory SOPs.

Review and release test results, ensuring compliance with quality control and safety standards .

Document all quality control activities, calibrations, maintenance, and corrective actions.

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve testing issues or escalate to a senior technologist or supervisor as needed.

Follow laboratory policies when systems deviate from acceptable performance levels.

Report STAT or Critical results in accordance with departmental procedures.

Maintain complete and organized testing records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

Ensure reagents and test kits are properly labeled with received and expiration dates.

Participate in safety training , educational meetings, and departmental updates.

Support inspections and audits by regulatory agencies as required.

Collaborate with internal teams and maintain professional communication with clients.

Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Experience :

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology preferred; or BS / BA in Chemistry, Biology, or an Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.

1+ year of clinical laboratory experience in high-complexity testing.

National and State licensure / certification as required (ASCP or AMT preferred).

Strong understanding of QC / QA principles and laboratory testing procedures.

Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems (LIS).

Experience across multiple laboratory disciplines.

Excellent time management and prioritization skills.

Strong teamwork and customer service orientation.
