Job Title : Occupational Medicine Physician Location : Richland, Washington Employment Type : Full-time (Onsite) Position Overview : We are seeking a qualified Occupational Medicine Physician to assist the Medical Director in delivering comprehensive occupational health services at the Hanford environmental restoration site. This role is pivotal in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring the well-being of onsite employees, and supporting injury and illness prevention initiatives. The Physician will work closely with the Medical Director and the medical team to provide high-quality care. Key Responsibilities : The Occupational Medicine Physician will collaborate with the Medical Director and Medical Staff to : Oversee and manage activities of the Occupational Medical Service (OMS), ensuring adherence to the highest standards of care. Deliver clinical support to employees with work-related injuries and illnesses, facilitating timely and safe return to work. Perform regulatory medical examinations in accordance with OSHA, DOE, state, and local regulations. Engage in outreach efforts with onsite employers and external stakeholders, communicating environmental risks, hazards, and preventive strategies. Promote and foster a culture of health and safety within the Hanford worksite and the local community. Qualifications : A minimum of three (3) years of experience in occupational medicine, with demonstrated ability to provide high-quality medical services in an industrial setting. Must be eligible for a DOE Access Authorization and meet qualifications for appointment as a Designated Physician under the DOE Human Reliability Program. Education & Training : Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree. Residency in Preventive Medicine with a focus on Occupational Medicine or Aerospace Medicine is preferred. Candidates with relevant specialty training in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine will also be considered. Skills & Abilities : Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOE, state, and local health and safety regulations. Excellent clinical skills with a strong foundation in occupational health. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record Systems (EHRS). Licenses & Certifications : Must hold a valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Washington. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications. Board certification or eligibility in Occupational Medicine or Aerospace Medicine is highly desirable. Supervisory Responsibilities : Will provide leadership and supervision as delegated by the SOMD and / or Program Manager in an outpatient clinic setting. The role may involve occasional lifting and bending.
