Assistant Project Manager

Join the City of Hesperia's Public Works Division assigned to Engineering as an Assistant Project Manager and be part of a team driven by service, integrity, innovation, and efficiency. Responsible for managing assigned development services and capital improvement projects from planning through completion. Ensures compliance with City policies, procedures, and Federal / State regulations. Duties include preparing and administering contracts, bids, and RFPs; coordinating consultants and contractors; managing project budgets and schedules; resolving construction issues; and ensuring project quality and cost efficiency. Prepares reports, presentations, and documentation; presents to City staff, management, and Council; and provides technical and administrative support for development projects. Stays current on industry standards and best practices in engineering, construction, and project management.

Requires a combination of education and experience demonstrating knowledge and skills in project management. Typically includes a Bachelor's degree in project / construction management, public administration, engineering, business, or a related field, plus at least three years of progressively responsible project management experiencepreferably with one year in a local government setting.
