Housing Assistant (Ha)
Position Summary : On June 16, 2022, Governor Kathy Hochul signed the NYC Public Housing Preservation Trust Act, which authorized the creation of the NYC Public Housing Preservation Trust (the Trust). The Trust is a public benefit corporation that will oversee the renovation and rehabilitation of the city's public housing developments, owned by the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). NYCHA will remain the permanent owner of the land / buildings and will enter a long-term ground lease with the Trust to secure Section 8 subsidies. The Bronx Lease-Signing Team will support the property management offices of developments in the Bronx as the developments convert to Trust oversight and from Section 9 public housing to Section 8 vouchers. As part of the conversion process, the Lease-Signing Team will work with residents to fill out and sign a new lease package. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following :
Note : After meeting the Minimum Qualification Requirements, preference will be given to candidates with strong case work / case management experience and to NYCHA Secretaries with a minimum of three years of field experience.
