General Description
Under the direct supervision of a Librarian, Incumbent provides customer service and assistance to library patrons.
Essential Duties
- Checks library materials in and out and inspects for damage.
- Registers and issues library cards.
- Answers telephone, routes calls as appropriate, answers routine queries and refers patrons in need of professional assistance to librarians.
- Collects, records and reports fines and other funds received.
- Performs administrative support tasks, such as maintaining statistics and supplies inventory.
