Job Title : Medical Assistant

Job Description : The Mental Health Medical Assistant supports our mental health providers (DO, NP, PA, and 3rd and 4th year Residents) ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of patient confidentiality, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Skills and Abilities :

• Clinical Skills : Proficiency in taking vital signs, administering injections, and basic medical procedures
• Assist the providersby organizing and preparing charts for providers throughout the day
• Prepare and administer in clinic treatments as directed / ordered by the provider (Ketamine / Spravato), adhering to all safety protocols and documentation requirements
• Educatepatients on medication instructions, treatment plans, and self care techniques as instructed by the provider
• Administrative Skills : Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask effectively
• Technical Skills : Proficient in computer applications, including Google Workspace and EHR systems (Valant io)
• Communication : Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate sensitively and clearly with diverse patient populations
• Interpersonal Skills : Empathetic, compassionate, and patient-centered approach. Ability to build rapport and trust with patients
• Problem-Solving : Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently and independently
• Professionalism : Maintain a professional demeanor and adhere to ethical standards
• Confidentiality : Strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and patient privacy
• Teamwork : Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Adaptability : Ability to adapt to changing priorities and a fast-paced environment

Other Duties :

Education : High school diploma or equivalent required and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred

Experience : 3 or more years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a mental health, psychiatric, or behavioral health setting.
