About The Position

Certifications : Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Must-Have :

Surgical stepdown experience in an acute care setting, preferably at a level 1 trauma center.

Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips.

IMCU / Stepdown experience, auto med dispensing, and more than one previous travel assignment.

Description :

This position requires a registered nurse for a stepdown unit.

Shifts are PM, 12-hour shifts, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week.

The unit sees post-operative patients requiring intermediate care.

Patients are transferred from PACU or SICU and include cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant patients.

The nurse-patient ratio is typically 1 : 3 or 1 : 4, and may extend to 1 : 4-5 for MedSurg patients.

A telemetry test and CC Med test will be conducted on day one.

Tertiary facility experience is preferred.

The position requires a commitment to every other weekend and holiday.
