Salary :
Apave America Inc. is currently seeking experienced API 653 Inspectors for the Corpus Christi, TX area! Must have extensive experience with tank inspections.

Full-time call out and full-time nested positions available at this time; Call out positions will require travel.
As an API 653 Inspector you will perform internal and external visual inspections and nondestructive examination on above ground storage tanks in accordance with the API 653 standards and requirements, as well as provide client with technical recommendations for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and / or alteration of plant equipment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and or review comprehensive storage tank inspection reports; Submit to client technically accurate reports documenting the condition of tank equipment
- Have broad knowledge base relating to tank inspection and repair of aboveground storage tanks, and satisfy the minimum qualifications specified in API Standard 653 : Tank Inspection, Repair, Alteration, and Reconstruction
- Provide client with technical recommendations for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and / or alteration of tank equipment, as required for safe operation within stated operating parameters for durations specified by client
- Provide technical input to client as required for welding and metallurgical issues
- Provide technical guidance, on an application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures
- Fully comply with all Apave America Inc. and client safe work practices and actively participate in all site safety initiatives
- Interpret regulations, codes and industry standards
- Travel to sites as needed.
Qualifications, Experience and Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent is requiredMinimum of five (5) years of experience in tank inspection is requiredCurrent valid certification to American Petroleum Institute Standard API 653 is requiredExperience with MFL Scanning, Vacuum Box, and Settlement Surveys requiredAPI 510 and or 570 certifications will be considered an assetActive CWI certification is a plusNDT Level II MT / PT / UTT Certifications considered an assetIn-depth working knowledge of API 653 and ASME standards requiredWorking knowledge of API 510 and or 570 and ASME standards considered an assetExperience working in direct support of petrochemical facility engineersKnowledgeable in Microsoft Software : Outlook, Word, Excel, and various IDMS platformsValid Drivers License and pre-access drug and alcohol testing requiredPre-employment background checks will be requiredValid TWIC Card requiredWork Conditions :
Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in diverse industrial environments with varying climate conditionsInteraction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors, client personnel and a wide range of stakeholdersWorking in a plant and / or shop area around production machinery with extreme noise levelsWork from various levels of heights and / or confined spaces for long periods of timeWear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection (PPE)Travel to different job sites as needed, sometimes on short noticeMay require shiftwork (days, evenings, nights)Physical and Mental Requirements :
