Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)
Full-Time, Monday–Friday | 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM

Responsibilities
As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will :
Promote Elara Caring's philosophy, mission, and policies to ensure quality of care
Assist in implementing rehabilitation needs by following a Plan of Care established by the Occupational Therapist
Make routine visits and re-evaluate patient therapy needs during each visit, reporting significant changes to the OT, supervisor, physician, and care team
Verify Plan of Care prior to each visit and provide care according to physician orders, assessment data, and established standards
Counsel and instruct patients / caregivers in therapy needs and home exercise programs, requesting modifications as needed
Promote compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party reimbursement regulations
Maintain communication with clinical staff, providing updates on schedules, patient needs, physician orders, and special instructions
Document timely and accurately to reflect coordination of care and continuity of services
Support efforts to reduce avoidable hospitalizations and ER visits
Work in a physically demanding, high-stress environment with patient handling, lifting, and transfers
Requirements
Graduate of a certified occupational therapy program approved by the Occupational Therapy Association
Current, unrestricted COTA certification in the state of practice
Minimum one (1) year of COTA experience in a clinical care setting preferred
Able and willing to travel within branch / office coverage area (up to 50%)
Dependable vehicle, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance per state law
Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently, with capacity to lift 50–100 lbs
Reporting Structure :
You will report to the Branch Director, Clinical Manager, Clinical Supervisor, or designee.
