Firefighter
You will perform structural firefighting duties for a variety of facilities.
You will direct / deploy firefighting operational processes, equipment, and duties during emergency and non-emergency situations.
You will perform wildland firefighting by suppressing wildfires using heavy-duty vehicles / equipment, and / or constructing fire lines in hazardous conditions.
You will initiate established medical protocols in providing basic life support.
You will perform hazard and risk assessment techniques in completing initial incident analysis.
Must be a US Citizen.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.

You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and / or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required.
You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
This is a Mission Essential position.
This position has a maximum entry age of 37.
Applicants must meet the Department of Defense (DoD) certification requirements.
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

In lieu of specialized experience you may qualify at the GS-05 level with the following education substitute : Successful completion of a 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university in Fire Training, Fire Science, or another related field of study leading to a bachelor degree.
OR Have a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience.
In lieu of specialized experience you may qualify at the GS-04 level with the following education substitute : Successful completion of a 2-year course of study in an accredited college or university in Fire Training, Fire Science, or another related course work.
OR Have a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience.
In lieu of specialized experience you may qualify at the GS-03 level with the following education substitute : Successful completion of a 1-year related education or training.
OR Have a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience.
