School Year position.
Purpose : Site Manager / Cook.
Manages School Food Service site operations, facilitates team environment with all school district staff and employees. Produces and serves quality, appetizing and nutritious breakfast, lunches and food items for the students of the MRSD in a pleasant manner. Maintains cost accountability to the parents, citizens and taxpayers of the district.
Supervisor : Nutrition Services Director.
Minimum Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or education to standards of Nutrition Services Director.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with administrators, staff, parents and students.
- Two years verifiable work experience.
- SERVE SAFE or equivalent NH DHHS recognized Food Safety training or successful completion within first 60 work days of employment.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities :
Knowledge :
Knowledge of kitchen procedures and methods, including preparation techniques, sanitation, safe food handling.Use of proper sanitary techniques in all aspects of preparation, storage and receiving of food and supplies- ensuring safety, quality and profitability.Maintain site operations in accordance with State and Federal regulations and meets standards for production, sanitation, reimbursement and operations.Abilities :
Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives with limited supervision.Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced work environment.Skill to use commercial kitchen equipment STOVE, OVEN, TIMERS, CAN OPENERS, KNIVES, DISH MACHINE, Etc.Skill to multiply or divide recipe ingredients as necessary.Ability to use computer, calculator, adding machine.Ability to collect records for site operations & financial transactions of student accountsMaintain confidentiality of Free & Reduced students.Essential Functions :
Works independently, prepares menu items, sets up serving areas in a professional, attractive and functional way. Instructs trains and assigns duties to kitchen assistants in an efficient manner. Serves meals at scheduled times.Works at scheduled times, primarily at assigned school. May need to travel and work at any school in the School District as required by supervisor or Director.Normal schedule follows SAU School calendar, Days and hours may change due to unforeseen circumstances, fiscal budget and special functions.Maintains accurate student account records, prepares bank deposits for main office.Prepares Reports, Inventories and Forms within office timeframes necessary for reimbursement.Prepares orders for supplies or places orders for items from approved supplier. (Milk).Maintains safe work areas, cleans up spills and repositions fallen items immediately.Maintains or inspects equipment and work areas for condition, reports deficiencies in a timely manner to School Principal, Maintenance Department or Director as required.Performs other duties as assigned for ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.Working Environment :
