Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) to join our Building Envelope team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a passion for building science, materials performance, and sustainable design. You will work under the supervision of licensed engineers and senior consultants to support the investigation, design, and construction administration of building enclosure systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the evaluation and design of building envelope systems, including roofing, waterproofing, cladding, fenestration, and air / vapor barriers.
- Conduct field investigations, site visits, and condition assessments to identify performance issues such as water infiltration, air leakage, and thermal bridging.
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications under the guidance of senior staff.
- Support construction administration tasks, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and field observation reports.
- Perform hygrothermal and thermal modeling using tools such as WUFI, THERM, or similar software.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and constructible solutions.
- Stay current with industry standards, codes, and emerging technologies related to building enclosures.
- Participate in forensic investigations and litigation support as needed.
Qualifications
Required :
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field with a focus on building science or structures.E.I.T. certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.Strong technical writing and communication skills.Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally for site visits.Preferred :
Internship or co-op experience in building envelope consulting, construction, or architecture.Familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, and building performance modeling tools.Knowledge of ASTM, AAMA, and other relevant industry standards.LEED accreditation or interest in sustainable design practices.What We Offer
