Security Officer - Flex Access Control

As a Security Officer - Flex Access Control in Joliet, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical / Petrochemical, and more.

As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal in a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help deter security-related incidents and support a secure environment. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, managing access points, and providing exceptional customer service through clear communication. This is a Part Time Position and Not Eligible for Health Benefits or 401k

Pay Rate : $20.01 / Hour

Job Schedule : DayTimeSun07 : 00 AM - 03 : 00 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Control access to the location by verifying credentials and monitoring entry and exit points to help deter unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas.
  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following site-specific policies and procedures, and responding to inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for chemical and petrochemical environments.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment and security-related systems to assist in maintaining awareness of activities throughout the location.
  • Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal and client requirements.
  • Support emergency response activities as needed, including assisting with evacuations or other procedures specific to chemical and petrochemical sites.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
