ABOUT THE ROLE

The purpose of this role is to collect receivables in a portfolio of assigned accounts that are smaller in transactional volume and less complex. This is a customer-facing role which requires good oral and written communication with ability to articulate the status of a customer account, our payment requirements and coordinate resolution to issues preventing prompt payment. This role takes incoming customer calls, initiates outbound calls for payment, and releases daily orders for assigned accounts. This position ensures customer accounts are collected within payment terms and reconciled.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Assigned customers in this role will typically be low volume sales, generally less complex with lower risk and exposure to the company.
• Contact assigned customers with past due balances and request payment.
• Build and maintain positive customer relationships.
• Review daily customer orders and take action for the timely release, or initiate actions to resolve prolonged hold / release.
• Provide customers with supporting documentation requested and / or needed for payment (e.g. invoices, statements). Title : Credit Representative 1 Insert Title FLSA Classification : Exempt Department : Credit & Collection Inset Department Immediate Supervisor : Credit Supervisor
• Respond to customer emails and telephone calls.
• Participate in taking inbound Credit queue customer calls and take necessary action to resolve inquiry; goal to be single point of contact without transfer.
• Administer assigned customer accounts to ensure account adjustments, refunds, small balance write offs, and account reconciliations are completed timely and accurately.
• Escalate to management alerts signaling extreme cash flow, bankruptcy or tangible factors that could impact the company’s overall objectives for cash and / or past due.
• Document in Apparelsoft all action steps taken to resolve past due balances and pertinent customer issues.
• Identify and escalate accounts for 3rd Party placement; ensure all in-house efforts have been exhausted.
• Participate in team meetings.
• Participate in meetings when needed with appropriate S&S and / or customer to resolve past due balances. (e.g. Sales, Customer Service, Credit Management)
• Perform other duties / tasks as assigned by management.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Physical Demands

Position requires employee to sit / stand throughout the day, typically in front of a computer. Regular use of office equipment such a computer, multiple monitors, telephone, scanner and / or copier are required.

Additional time required at calendar month-end to meet department objectives and goals.

Working Environment

This job is a flexible, hybrid position, allowing for working in a professional office environment as well from a home office. This role routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, printer / scanners, and computer phones application (CX One).
