Position Summary
This full-time onsite position is located at our Springfield, MO facility. The Electrical Engineer will execute functions within the Electrical Engineering Department and related projects. The role ensures appropriate electrical design, development, and installation of electrical hardware and systems, and supports electrical engineering and design functions. The Electrical Engineer will provide direction and support to the Electrical Design Group as required to properly execute electrical designs, projects and schedules.
Responsibilities
- Lead Electrical Engineering projects, interface with customers, and ensure customer satisfaction. Travel as required to support ABEC's customers.
- Understand project requirements, specifications and objectives.
- Define Electrical and Instrumentation scope of work and develop all required specifications.
- Execute quality management plans in accordance with ABEC standard procedures.
- Electrical estimating and forecasting.
- Develop and coordinate design and / or manufacturing efforts to ensure compliance.
- Assist in development of control panel layouts, electrical schematics, instrument and control loop drawings, assembly drawings and bill of materials.
- Maintain organized project-related records.
- Develop hardware documentation including details, setup parameters and operations and maintenance manuals. Provide training to end users.
- Provide technical support to customers, sales and marketing.
- Evaluate and recommend electrical upgrades to existing equipment or systems as required.
- Develop control hardware design specifications.
- Support and assist customer field service requirements, planned and unplanned.
- Support Field Services with respect to Electrical needs both planned and unplanned.
- Support commissioning, startup and customer quality testing as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned and travel when required.
- Active involvement in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement opportunities.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.Minimum 3 years' experience with electrical power systems including 400 / 480 VAC supply and motor control circuits (preferred).Experience with electrical sizing requirements and load calculations including short circuit, heat load, and total power consumption.Good understanding of PLC hardware application and usage.Knowledge of process instrumentation.Knowledgeable with NEC (NFPA 70) and UL508 standards.Familiar with European standards such as ATEX and IEC is preferred.Awareness of and experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus.Prior Lean / Six Sigma experience a plus.Desired Attributes
AutoCAD, Inventor, EPLAN software a plus.Familiarity with OEM work processes and business model.Ability to interface with multi-disciplined engineering groups.Experience with design application, specifying and selecting electrical components and instrumentation.Familiarity with instrument control loop drawings and I / O lists.Seniority level : Mid-Senior level
