Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a WI or compact RN license, with expertise in post-op hearts and cardiac critical care.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a 12-bed Cardiovascular ICU within a hospital setting
  • Primary patient population includes post-op hearts, acute myocardial infarction (AMI), cardiogenic shock, and patients undergoing induced hypothermia
  • Patient ratios are typically 2 : 1 for CRRT and 1 : 1 for Impella
  • Frequent cardioversions and line placements / removals are performed in the unit
  • Expected to float to all inpatient units, primarily within the critical care and acute care clusters
  • 12-hour day shifts from 0700-1930
  • Weekend requirement is every 2-3 weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
  • Holiday coverage required every other holiday
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Responsible for advanced care of complex cardiac patients, including post-op hearts and cardiogenic shock
  • May be put on call during low census; if called back, call back pay will apply
  • Flexible with scrub color; any color is acceptable
  • Must manage change well and work independently
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Set hours are guaranteed weekly except during orientation and holiday unit closures

  • Active WI or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • CCRN certification preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 2 years cardiac critical care experience required
  • Experience with Swans, IABP, post-op hearts, CRRT, and Impella required
  • Ability to manage independently and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Applicants must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
