We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Coordinator to join our growing construction team. In this role, you will help implement and monitor safety programs that keep our worksites compliant, productive, and incident-free. You'll work closely with site supervisors and project teams to conduct inspections, support training, and foster a strong culture of safety. This position is ideal for a motivated professional who is eager to gain hands-on experience, expand their knowledge of construction safety, and build a long-term career in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly site safety audits to identify hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance issues
- Ensure all employees and subcontractors follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Assist with reporting, investigating, and documenting incidents, near-misses, and accidents, and help develop corrective action plans
- Support and coordinate safety training sessions, including PPE usage, hazard recognition, and emergency response
- Maintain and update safety records such as audits, training logs, safety meetings, and incident reports
- Participate in toolbox talks, near-miss programs, and safety meetings to promote awareness and engagement
- Monitor availability and condition of PPE and assist with distribution as needed
- Collaborate with site supervisors, subcontractors, and safety managers to align safety goals and procedures
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field preferred14 years of experience in construction or site safety rolesOSHA 30 Construction Certification required; OSHA 510 preferredPrior experience in site development or civil construction is highly preferredStrong working knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety regulationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsBilingual in English and Spanish is a plusSelf-motivated, punctual, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is a plusOpen to relocation, preferred but not requiredCompensation & Benefits
