Overview

Partner, Environmental Permitting – Oil & Gas at ERM

ERM is seeking an experienced professional to join our Capital Project Development Team, with a focus on Energy clients. The primary focus is on client account development, sales, and delivery of ERM's consulting services to the Energy and / or Power industries, with emphasis on traditional energy (oil and gas) within the Gulf Coast footprint and beyond.

Our aim is to help clients achieve project success from planning through construction and operation, while managing environmental, social, health and cultural resources impacts and driving sustainability across the lifecycle.

We will consider strong candidates in the Gulf Coast geography (Houston, New Orleans, Dallas, Austin) and Florida.

Role profile

The primary focus will be on client account development and growth, sales, and delivery of the full spectrum of ERM's consulting services to deliver strategic value to our clients in the Energy and / or Power industries. You will contribute to growing ERM's Capital Project Development services and business, through :

  • Collaborating with the North America Regional Service Leadership team to drive commercial growth for decarbonization projects, alternative energy projects and other Low Carbon Economy Transition projects.
  • Working with client account directors / managers and NA Regional Service Leaders to implement client and market segment specific consulting programs for the region.
  • Assisting clients in achieving project success from planning through construction and operation.
  • Developing new client relationships and expanding existing ones by delivering strategic consulting advice, value, and quality service.
  • Maintaining knowledge of industry business cycles and prioritizing sales efforts toward high-potential opportunities.
  • Developing commercial strategies to pursue and win new business with ERM's target Energy and / or Power clients.
  • Driving innovation within core sectors to stay ahead of client needs and differentiate ERM in the market.
  • Building, growing, and managing a high-performance team, serving as a leader and mentor to consultants.
  • Meeting business health & safety standards, financial targets, project budgets and schedules, client satisfaction, and internal risk management and contractual requirements.
  • Engaging with ERM's technical communities (e.g., Biodiversity and Ecosystems Technical Community and Impact Assessment Technical Community) with a focus on protected species policy and compliance.

Requirements

  • BS / MS in environmental science, biology, or related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in management consulting and substantial work in the Energy or Power Sectors.
  • Demonstrated track record delivering multi-million-dollar annual sales / programs.
  • In-depth understanding of the Energy and / or Power industry and existing relationships that can be leveraged for new business.
  • Understanding of the Energy and / or Power regulatory environment, key regulatory agencies, and current and emerging issues (e.g., carbon transitioning).
  • Business acumen to understand risks and challenges and to identify enterprise-wide solutions for clients.
