The right Clinical Lab Specialist must have 1 year of experience in a medical laboratory. Read below for additional requirements. As a Clinical Lab Specialist, you will be responsible for the analytical evaluation of blood and other body fluids with accuracy and precision. The Clinical Lab Specialist will have a working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, including operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Clinical Lab Specialist must meet the requirements of the general supervisor and performance of tasks under CLIA 88 definitions. As a Clinical Lab Specialist, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks : Perform and evaluate complex laboratory analyses on blood and other body fluids. Interface with medical center personnel and physicians to review lab results and confirm diagnoses. Perform quality assurance testing and instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting procedures. Utilize microscopes, cell counters, and other high-precision lab equipment to examine and analyze blood, body fluids, tissues, and cells. Investigate and resolve problems and unusual situations. Ensure patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken, and the test system is properly functioning. Evaluate and implement new methodologies and procedures as assigned by supervisors. Supervise other laboratory personnel as needed. Use medical center and laboratory computer systems in the performance of daily tasks. Generate appropriate and required documentation of testing and support procedures. The ideal candidate must have at least one year of experience as a Clinical Lab Specialist. Additionally, they should possess a current BLS certification and hold the MLS National Certification. Must have experience working as a generalist (chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and urinalysis). May require state licensure. Clinical Lab Specialists should be able to stand and walk for long periods, as well as bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty. Medical Technologists must have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Requirements
