This job provides individualized, direct patient care in the form of ophthalmic photography and / or other diagnostic testing of assigned patients under supervision of a coordinator and / or physician. Responsible for assisting in the implementation and evaluation of the delivery of ophthalmological care services and assisting the patient and family in the restoration and maintenance of ophthalmic health care goals meeting organizational goals. Works closely with the coordinator in the implementation of policies, procedures and goals of the Clinic.
Education
Required High School diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
Required 2 years' experience with ophthalmic photography with : anatomy of the eye, physiology of the eye, pathology of the eye, pharmacology, patient management, printing digital images, general photography, digital photography, fundus photography, fluorescein angiography
Certifications
Required Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or Technician
Certified Retinal Angiographer
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and / or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
